Your everyday routines matter, a lot, as they shape your well-being over time. We want to help you build lifelong healthy habits, beginning with your morning routine. Have you always brushed your teeth right after breakfast? Well, if you have, this one's for you. Take a moment to evaluate your current oral care regimen, and discover which small tweaks you can make to improve it.

1. Good morning breath

A rejuvenating morning begins with a clean canvas, especially for your oral health. Overnight, bacteria have made themselves at home in your mouth, and it's crucial to bid them farewell. Start by gently brushing or scraping your tongue to remove unwanted buildup. Then, rinse your mouth using water or a mouthwash. This will immediately freshen your breath and help repairing ingredients stick (next step!).

2. Brush before breakfast

After your quick clean, it's time to give your teeth the preparation they need for the upcoming attack - your breakfast. We recommend brushing your teeth for two minutes before breakfast using a fluoride and remineralizing toothpaste, such as our Essential Whitening Toothpaste, to strengthen your teeth and counteract the acid that occurs when you consume acidic foods or drinks. Avoid rinsing your mouth after brushing to retain the benefits of fluoride, hydroxyapatite and other remineralizing ingredients while enjoying your morning meal. Also, make sure you use a soft bristle toothbrush, to avoid unnecessary wear on your teeth and gums.

If brushing your teeth in less than 30 minutes after eating or drinking, it can harm your enamel, since the acid attack that occurs softens the enamel. This increases the risk of making them weaker, more sensitive and discolored.

3. Strengthen your teeth and refresh

After your breakfast, take a moment to rinse your mouth with water, clearing away any debris. If you prefer to floss in the morning, now is the time to do it. Next, enhance the benefits to your mouth with an additional step. You can choose to rinse your mouth with a high-quality mouthwash or take a small amount of toothpaste and swish it around for 30 seconds, then spit. If using a good product, this will provide added strength to your teeth, reduce sensitivity throughout the day, keep your mouth hydrated, and leave your breath feeling fresh.

4. Embrace your confident smile

Lastly, take a moment to appreciate the positive change you've made to elevate your health and start of the day. Remember, your smile is not only a reflection of your oral health but also your confidence. So, wear it proudly and let it shine as your best accessory throughout the day!
